History

 
  • Founded in Belgrade in 1955 as the Institute of Meat Technology;
  • 1965 receives the status of a scientific institution of special social interest;
  • 1972 The activity on realization of the Monitoring program of control of residues of veterinary drugs and environmental contaminants in tissues and organs of domestic and wild animals, fish and primary products of animal origin (milk, eggs and honey) begins, which are still performed according to European Union regulations;
  • 1989 The Federal Ministry of Agriculture appoints the Institute for the Coordinating Laboratory for the Hygienic Safety of Meat and Meat Products;
  • 1994 Yugoslav Institute of Meat Technology changes name to Institute of Meat Hygiene and Technology;
  • 2001 a documented and certified system of work according to the requirements of the standard SRPS ISO 9001: 2001;
  • 2002. First accreditation of the Institute's laboratory sector according to the requirements of JUS ISO / IEC 17025: 2001;
  • 2002 Decision of the European Commission "Commision regulation EC 1168/2002" appoints the Institute for Meat Hygiene and Technology as the authorized institution for issuing certificates of authenticity for the export of beef meat originating in the Republic of Serbia to the EU market, valid until today;
  • In 2006, by the conclusion of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the state took over the founding and management rights and constituted the Institute as an institution of public interest;
  • 2010. Certification according to SRPS ISO 9001: 2008;
  • 2012. Reaccreditation of the Laboratory for Biotechnological Research and Control of Food Safety and Quality in accordance with the requirements of the standard SRPS ISO / IEC 17025: 2006.
